Environmental Health Officer/ Practitioner

We are looking for a looking for an Environmental Health Officer / Practitioner to work in the Food and Health & Safety team. You will undertake pro-active interventions; investigate and respond to complaints and enquiries and support or lead Food Hygiene training where possible.  Although there are lead roles, you would be expected to work across all aspects of the team’s work which includes Food Hygiene, Infectious Disease control, Health and Safety (including internal), Public Health, Licensing of Activities involving Animals and work associated with registrations and enquiries for the Beauty Sector as well as Private Water Supplies.    

We want the right individual to join our small but busy team to help make a real difference to the residents of Ashford.  We are looking for an officer who is flexible over the duties they are assigned, who is keen to develop and enjoys working and being part of a team.

This role will make an important contribution towards tackling the challenges posed by Covid-19, and you will be expected to actively engage with businesses to support and provide advice.

You will be working in a highly respected team. Self-motivation, professionalism, commitment and enthusiasm are essential.

You will need a full UK driving licence and access to a car while at work.

You will have an MSc, degree or diploma in Environmental Health and hold (or be working towards) an EHRB certificate of Registration.
