This is a practical and hands-on role which requires someone with excellent administrative, writing and IT skills. Your inter-personal skills will also be of the highest standard and you will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the role and needs of elected members in a local authority setting.
As well as producing agendas and minutes for meetings in accordance with the requirements of legislation and the Council’s constitution, you will support the Council’s scrutiny structure by undertaking research, analysing findings and drafting reports for scrutiny reviews.
You will be part of a small, friendly team in a challenging and stimulating environment. You must be organised, accurate and able to work under pressure to pre-determined deadlines. You will be confident and tactful in dealing with elected members and senior officers and be able to think logically and plan ahead.
