Would you like to help people to understand how to reduce their risks for cardiovascular disease, stroke, diabetes type 2 and preventable cancers?  Do you have the motivational skills to support people to improve their lifestyles by eating more healthily, getting more active and achieving a healthy weight? Are you well organised and good at administration? Would you like to receive regular training opportunities to develop your existing skills?

Arun Wellbeing has a vacancy for a Wellbeing Adviser, working within a proactive and friendly team at Arun District Council.  Our Wellbeing Advisers visit workplaces to offer Wellbeing MOTs to employees, meet clients on a one to one basis, lead weight management classes and pre-diabetes courses, and get out into the community to promote health and wellbeing through talks and promotional events. Our Advisers also deliver stop smoking cessations and NHS Health Checks.

Arun Wellbeing has been commissioned by the West Sussex County Council Department of Public Health, to develop a prevention and wellbeing programme for adults of all ages.  We have a particular focus on supporting behaviour change in people with increased risk of developing cardiovascular disease, stroke, diabetes type 2 and cancer through providing information, signposting and motivational support.  As well as the core team of wellbeing advisers, the wider Arun Wellbeing team members offer physical activity sessions, fuel poverty advice and a family-based wellbeing programme. The Wellbeing Team support people who live and work across the whole of the Arun District, and therefore work from different locations around the area. Therefore, applicants must have a full driving licence and access to a car.
