Starting Salary: £35,745 pa progressing to £43,857 pa (pro-rata for Job Share)
Hours: Full time (Flexible/Job Share considered)
Contract Type: Permanent

The Job:

Based within a team of project and programme managers, you will play a crucial role in helping improve the lives of older people and adults with disabilities in Hertfordshire by managing a range of business improvement and transformation projects within our Adult Care Services. Our Department is responsible for the Council's older people, physical disability, learning disability and mental health services. The Business Improvement Team sits within this service to support a wide range of change projects and programmes, which can include anything from supporting the creation of new services, ensuring compliance with new legislation, and helping the Department deliver on its 3-year strategic transformational plans.

You will need to have excellent project management skills, as well the ability to build and maintain good relationships with a wide variety of people both inside and outside the service, including members of the public, project partners, colleagues and decision-makers.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. To be responsible for scoping and implementation of small/medium size projects led by the Business Improvement Team (or leading on smaller workstreams of larger projects). To ensure that all project objectives are met in accordance with project, corporate and statutory needs; organisation of relevant project meetings and providing regular updates on progress to relevant project leads. Utilisation of Hertfordshire County Council’s project management approach and standard documentation
  2. To be responsible for ensuring project benefit realisation is planned, tracked and reviewed
  3. To be responsible for developing and maintaining appropriate finance and information systems ensuring compliance with departmental policies & procedures
  4. To be responsible for developing and enhancing systems and processes; identifying problems, assessing new ways of working and redesigning processes to ensure that the projects meet agreed service standards, key performance indicators and legislative requirements. This may include maximising use of technology in business processes
  5. To be responsible for the implementation, as appropriate, of the Council's equalities and data protection policies
  6. Work proactively to identify opportunities to improve performance and outcomes for Adult Care Services, and champion project management best practice and the Council’s ‘Smart Worker’ approach within Adult Care Services.
