Following an increase in workload in our food and safety team an exciting opportunity has arisen for the appointment of a full time and permanent experienced principal food and safety officer.

 

You will provide a customer focussed approach to business regulation requirements across the District. The role involves the provision of expert advice, support and guidance to both existing and new businesses enforcing food safety and health and safety legislation in those businesses. You will also be expected to carry out reactive communicable disease control and complaint investigation work and to contribute to other areas of enforcement such as licensing, event work and environmental protection.

 

You will be an experienced food law enforcement officer with competency to inspect all category A to E food businesses. You must hold a relevant degree and you must hold EHRB certification. You will have significant experience in food law enforcement and comply with the competencies for authorised officers as detailed in the Food Law Code of Practice. You will be familiar with the approval process, prohibition procedures and possess a health and safety qualification equivalent to the NEBOSH certificate in Health and Safety.

 

You will be a team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to continuing professional development to deliver the duties of the post.
