Finance Assistant - Adult Social Care

There has never been a more exciting time to bring about change for people in Surrey.

We are developing a whole life approach to ensure that people of any age can live healthy, safe, independent and fulfilling lives. We are working with our partners to develop an integrated service and improved journey for residents. By adopting an all age approach, we can reimagine how services join together and smooth out some of the issues that residents and their carers experience at different stages in their lives.

Do you want to be part of a busy finance team that is integral to the delivery of services across Surrey?

The role of a Finance Assistant involves working as part of a team providing financial support to ensure the efficient operation of an area Finance Team, to ensure it meets the needs of people who use the service and their Carers.

This key role involves processing invoices for services and payments and to ensure accurate and timely payment to suppliers, providers and people who use services. You will also support the team to prepare and reconcile monthly finance returns. You will also be responsible for processing and reconciling payments to clients to enable them to purchase their own care via a Direct Payment and manage payments in accordance with corporate and service policies and procedures.

We’re looking for candidates who:

  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Possess good problem solving and analytical skills
