PHYSICAL ACTIVITY ADVISOR

Together an Active Future

Salary – Grade 6  £22,183 to £24,491

Full time 36.25 hours per week

Funded for 2 years

As one of the twelve Sport England Local Delivery Pilots, Together an Active Future (TaAF) is an opportunity to make a difference for the people of Pennine Lancashire. 

 

TaAF want more people to be more active, improve mental wellbeing and help people live happier, healthier lives. Working within the Burnley Together network the successful applicant will champion the role of physical activity and help to communicate local existing programmes and opportunities amongst groups, organisations and individuals.

 

You will be responsible for supporting people on a one to one and group basis to advise and refer to existing services and opportunities. Good knowledge of the locality and current provision is an essential part of the role.

 

We are particularly keen to receive applications from individuals who have the vision, drive and desire to develop and deliver innovative projects in our communities.

 

You must hold a current Level 3 Exercise qualification. Flexibility is vital as hours will include evenings and weekends.

 

The successful applicant will be a highly motivated individual, who is able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team.  It is essential you have excellent communication skills and be able to create and maintain  effective relationships with a diverse range of partners.

 

You must have experience of delivering health and physical activity programmes to diverse populations.

 

We expect high standards and in return we offer excellent rates of pay, along with training and support and the opportunity to gain further qualifications.

 

Appointment to the post is subject of a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
