We are looking to a Private Sector Housing Technical Assistant to provide support to the PSH team. To have excellent IT skills, with experience of using a database system, Word, Excel, Outlook, OneNote and Teams. Along with the means test assessment system and the ability to work on your own initiative, experience of dealing with customers both face to face and over the telephone.
Processing payments, grant and loan approvals, completing notices and legal files, assisting with the writing of policy and procedure files, maintenance of the departments web page, filing, balancing spread sheets, completing spreadsheets, preparing replies to RFI, complaints and Councillor and MP enquiries.
The successful candidate will be required to assist in the day to day running of the Private Sector Housing team, giving advice and information to other Medway Council departments, Medway residents, landlords, agents and other key professionals.
To provide advice to the general public with regards to all aspects of Private Sector Housing.
To assist the team manager and team leader with large complex ongoing projects.
Ability to use the relevant IT systems, to keep accurate records on all cases and ensure that each case can be tracked.
Ability to provide statistical and monitoring data, to outline both the current position and timescales involved in the departmental processes.
To assist with keeping accurate budget figures for the various budgets which are held by the department. Be able to advise the Service Manager of the budget and statistical position in the absence of the department manager and team leader.
To assist in the development of the close working relationship with the outside agencies, to assist with development of future projects.
To carry out the early financial assessment for the Grant/Adaptation process and be able to assist clients in the process of completing application forms and taking on the role of supporting the client through the process should this be required.
To be conversant with the Council’s Housing Policy, develop good links with Housing Colleagues, to be able to advise clients and other professionals.
Ability to check prepared notices, schedule of works and grants approvals. Checking of payment requests, preparing and processing invoices for payments.
To assist in the development of strategy in relation to Housing.
To act in accordance with the equal opportunities policy and undertake duties as required by directorate action plans.
