We have vacancies for 5 Passenger Assistants on routes to support children on their journey to and from school.  The actual hours worked will depend on the scheduled or allocated routes but are likely to be about 20 hours per week split between a morning and afternoon journey each week day.

You will be supervising children with special educational needs on their journey to and from school. This could be in a taxi or a minibus.

Do you have experience of working with children with additional complex needs, some of whom may have challenging behaviour?

You will need to be sensitive to children’s individual needs, providing reassurance and assistance. You will also communicate with parents and school staff to ensure the children have a safe journey to and from school.

You will be assigned to a regular school route, but you will also need to be flexible as these arrangements do periodically change according to the children we have to transport.

These posts are exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitations of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and are subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
