Fixed term to March 2023

36.25 hours per week.

Grade 9 - £29,577 - £32,234

Burnley Council is working with partners to develop a co-ordinated approach to getting residents into work and training including the establishment of the Burnley Youth Employment & Skills Hub. The post is to work with partners on Employment and Skills development with a focus on the co-ordination of the Youth Employment and Skills Hub which is being delivered jointly with Calico and the Department for Work & Pensions.

The Council are looking for someone with significant experience and excellent partnership working skills to work with a range of organisations/sectors to deliver this joint approach on providing employment support and skills development particularly, but not exclusively, targeting young people.

You must have experience of leading, developing and delivering skills and employment focussed programmes/projects. In addition, you will need to demonstrate that you have experience in securing and managing external funding for partnership-based activities.

You will be based part-time within the Council’s Business Support Team, located in the Town Hall and the remainder of your time located at the Burnley Together Hub which is hosted by Calico adjacent the bus station.

Working with the Business Support Team, an important part of the role will be to ensure businesses are aware of and make use of new skills initiatives including apprenticeships, internments and kick start placements. Essential to the role is a knowledge of national, regional and local skills and employment support and provision.
