English Teacher – LIFE Alternative Education Provision

Are you passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of vulnerable children?

Would you like to work in a friendly, supportive team to reduce the barriers to learning for pupils with SEND?

Our students have not been successful in mainstream, SEMH Special and/or Short Stay Schools, but are able to thrive in our highly flexible and inclusive provision. The role of Teacher within LIFE will present an interesting and rewarding opportunity for the right individual to use their knowledge, skills and experience to support young people to learn.

The delivery of the academic curriculum will depend on the readiness of each individual to learn, which allows for a unique approach to delivering a personalised curriculum, designed to meet the specific needs of each learner.

You will work as part of a team to deliver a full time education provision to young people with SEN in Years 12-14. This will involve the delivery of 1:1 and small group teaching of English, leading and taking part in engagement activities and supporting the delivery of an accreditation programme. To be shortlisted to interview for this position your application will clearly evidence:

QTS and successful completion of your NQT year
Experience working with students with SEND and/or complex needs
Passion to make a positive impact on lives and education of vulnerable young people
Positive and creative approach to solving problems

This position is for 2.5 days per week, term time and will be paid at point 1-3 on the Teachers main pay scale (annualized salary £12,429.50 - £14,394.50), plus SEN allowance of £1,074.50 per annum
