Team Manager - Domestic Abuse

Wirral is home to vibrant, energetic and engaged communities, people who take real ownership of their local area and are passionate about making Wirral a better place. The council and its partners have pledged to #BeTheDifference.

We’ve got ambitious targets to meet by 2025. To achieve everything we have promised to our residents, we need people who are driven and ready to deliver the very best for our communities - #BeTheDifference.

We can talk about domestic abuse Programme - Domestic Abuse Team Manager

We are aspiring for a future Wirral where as few people as possible are affected by domestic abuse, but those who are can get help to end the abuse and go on to live the lives they want.

Wirral Children’s Services has transformed some of its ambitions, ideas and principles into reality with another successful funding bid from the Department for Education to deliver a programme which seeks to improve the experiences of social care services for children, young people and families affected by domestic abuse, making it easier to access support and making sure there is help when they need it.

The “We can talk about Domestic abuse” programme is a one year programme which sees the creation of a specialist team of domestic abuse subject matter experts who understand the world of social care and the experiences of families affected by domestic abuse.

We are looking to appoint a dynamic, experienced and skilled Team Manager to lead a new team of domestic abuse subject matter experts to provide robust, specialist and holistic support and critical friend challenge across the social care sector to improve the experiences of families through processes and ensures children and families feel believed, supported and empowered.

We want you to be able to share your understandings of the relevant language, skills and knowledge required to influence, guide and mentor practitioners so that they feel suitably qualified, skilled and confident to support young people and families affected by domestic abuse in the most appropriate way.

We know a one-size-fits-all approach does not work. We want you to help shape and transform our services so that they can be flexible and adapt to the needs of our families.

If you think you can #BeTheDifference for children young people and families, please join our team.

By joining us, you will be part of a supportive and nurturing organisation, committed to developing and progressing our workforce so that they can achieve their ambitions and thrive.

This a one year fixed term post until January 2022.
