Our ambitions are high, for our people, communities and places and this new role is fundamental to our strategy, Platforms for our Places.

This exciting role will pave the way for a strong participation culture and grow a set of skilled and creative practices across our teams, to strengthen our local democracy.

We want to connect people in more meaningful ways and create a greater sense of involvement in the decisions and services that affect their lives.

Within this role you will develop our policy and practice approach to participation and an inclusive agenda around asset-based working.  You will be an enabler for our teams, working with them to grow their skills and capabilities to do great participation as well as leading and supporting some key agendas.

As part of this role we need you to be well connected and form strong relationships with our voluntary sector and key leaders within our communities

As part of our Wellbeing Section, based within the Communities Directorate, you will be working with a diverse set of teams with agendas around people, health, homes and environment.  You will have the opportunity to take a central role in our thinking as we redesign our directorate to work more effectively with communities

You will need to be utterly passionate about all things to do with communities, people, places and be a skilled relationship-maker. You must also be highly knowledgeable, skilled and creative in relation to participation and asset based working and inclusive practices and building a culture of change across a diverse set of teams. Our goal in this work is not simply practice improvements - it's to shift and grow our relationship with our communities so that we are creating opportunities for them to grow and thrive.
