Job Title: Childrens Practitioner
Location: Hemel Hempstead
Salary Range: £20,903 to £27,741 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Permanent

Job Duties:

An exciting opportunity has come up for a Children’s Practitioner within the Dacorum South Safeguarding team.

Our Family Safeguarding Teams are multi-agency teams that work with Child Protection, and Child in Need cases, children subject to care proceedings and children looked after. These are multi-disciplinary teams consisting of social workers, domestic abuse, substance misuse and mental health workers working together to tackle the root causes of risk in families.

This is an exciting time to be in the family safeguarding service with other Local Authorities keen to mirror practice and it is also an excellent opportunity to progress your professional career in a supportive environment alongside experienced, committed, creative and productive Social Work staff and managers. As a Children’s Practitioner you would be supporting social workers within the team to undertake identified pieces of work, working directly with children and parents, to achieve change within families. Work includes contributing to parenting assessments, undertaking direct work with children, supervising contact between children and their parents and attending meetings to review plans for children. The role requires you to record all sessions in an analytical way onto the child/ren’s LCS records. Attendance at group supervision is necessary as this informs work to be completed and reflect on how to achieve best outcomes for the child/ren.

The team has a Smart Working ethos, where working from home or other off-site touchdown locations is actively encouraged. To facilitate this a laptop and mobile phone will be provided.

For an informal discussion about this role, please contact the team manager, Louise McKenna on 0300 1234043.
