The council is seeking to recruit a Benefit and Revenues Assistant to its Revenues and Benefits service.
This is an exciting opportunity to provide face-to-face advice and support to our customers primarily from our Maidenhead Library Service Hub, however flexibility may be required to cover the service hub at Windsor Library.
The role will be to support the customers through the process of claiming a range of benefits administered by the local authority such as Housing Benefits, Council Tax Support and Discretionary Housing Payments. Customers may be making a new claim, reporting a change in circumstances or simply enquiring about entitlement. The post holder will also be expected to undertake a range of assessments, associated with these benefits, balancing the need to provide a prompt service to the customer with this part of the role. The role will also involve supporting our customers with Council Tax, including payment queries and discount and exemption queries.
