Highway Services Structures Team

£34,884 - £37,722

Permanent/ Full- time

Highway Services is part of the Regeneration and Environment Department, under the responsibility of the Director – Operational Services. It provides Enfield with the operational capacity to manage the authority’s highway infrastructure and associated assets. Highway Services also provides a consultancy service for the project management, design and supervision of Environmental and Civil Engineering projects from inception to completion. The service provides professional expert advice and local knowledge.

We have an opportunity in our Structures/ Bridges Team at Engineer level. For this role we are looking for an experienced structural engineer to focus on the design, inspections and assessments of highway structures, construction and maintenance of civil/ structural engineering tasks.

You must have a detailed understanding of the procedures, guidelines and legislation associated with structural engineering and the management and delivery of civil engineering projects. This should have included design, inspections and assessments, technical reports and feasibility studies, site supervision, project management, contract administration and financial control, with the appropriate guidance from more senior officers.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Civil and/ or structural engineering degree/ HNC or equivalent experience and have some relevant post-graduate experience in Bridges Projects. You should also have:

  • Sound technical skills and willingness to learn

  • Highly motivated, and able to work on own initiative with minimal supervision

  • Good communication skills, both in oral presentations and written reports

  • Good team-working skills, particularly in relation to the delivery of wide range of projects
