Project Officer

Salary: SO2 £32,418 to £34,209

X1 Permanent, Full time (36 hours) position

There is no better time to join Enfield Council.

Meridian Water is Enfield Council’s flagship regeneration programme, a £6 Billion scheme, delivered on a 85- hectare site; our delivery approach is without precedent – The Council has taken control acting as Master Developer, acquiring land, planning permissions, and we are about to deliver a £156M infrastructure investment programme to unlock the areas of development potential.

The Council is in contract with a Developer partner to deliver approximately 900+ new homes and a mix of commercial, community and leisure uses at Meridian One, while the Council has also selected a Developer partner to deliver 250+ affordable homes at Meridian Two. The Council is also in the process of shaping proposals for Meridian Three and Meridian Four, the latter of which will be a significant 800+ unit Build to Rent led project directly delivered by the Council as Developer.

We require a dynamic, Development Project Officer to support the work of the Delivery Team within the Meridian Water Team. You will gain experience of and exposure to the various workstreams relating to residential led mixed-use development projects, including design & planning, commercial/property, technical and pre-construction, procurement, construction stages, as well as socio-economic and meanwhile initiatives. We will give you experience and training so that you have every opportunity to progress in your career in Development and Regeneration.

The delivery of Meridian Water demonstrates Enfield’s ambitions as a local authority. For us, Meridian Water is about delivering our passion for successful communities with high quality housing and jobs to make sure that we create places that enable our communities to prosper.

The role is essential to achieving the Council’s ambitious objectives. We need someone who has strong organisation skills and attention to detail, with the ability to coordinate and update changing project information and systems to support the delivery and monitoring of development and regeneration projects, liaising with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including Developers, surveyors, architects and other professional advisors.

If you are someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, dynamic working environment and believe that you have the vision, skillset and experience that we are looking for then we would be very keen to hear from you.

Why it's great to work for Enfield Council:

  • An excellent pension through the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS).
  • Up to 31 days annual leave depending on grade and length of service. You will also get eight public holidays per year and an extra day off at Christmas.
  • A blend of remote and office based working for most roles.
  • Interest free season ticket loan repayable over three or ten months.
  • Career development and learning experiences from a range of training courses and learning methods.
  • Employee Assistance Programme to provide advice and counselling services. This is a free and confidential service available to staff and members of their family.
  • Health and leisure discounts and tax-free bikes for work.

We are passionate about our people and how we deliver services to our community in Enfield. That’s why we encourage a culture that puts our customers at the heart of everything we do - by empowering our people to work together to find solutions, be open, honest and respectful, take responsibility and listen and learn. If you value these behaviours too, we’d love to hear from you - and of course we are always happy to talk flexible working.
