Salary range: £40,569 - £44,868 per annum plus £2,907 Car Allowance per annum

In September 2020, Rother District Council incorporated its own Local Housing Company. Our ambition is to build 1000 new homes over the next 15 years
We are therefore seeking a talented, dynamic and forward-thinking officer to build and deliver a development programme and be at the forefront of our drive to increase the supply of good quality housing across the district. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to demonstrate to commercial developers that it is possible to deliver high quality, environmentally friendly homes affordable for local people.
This brand-new position will run the day to day operations of Alliance Homes, manage relationships with registered providers, oversee the sales and marketing process, and develop a forward programme of housing delivery in line with the business plan. You will line manage the housing development officer who is responsible for ensuring delivery of affordable housing across the district, and who will support in relationship building and market intelligence.
We are looking for applicants with proven experience in leading on housing related programmes. You will have strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build long-lasting relationships with external professional teams and contractors as well as internally with senior officers, members and within other teams across the Council. An understanding of budgets and financial management; adaptable and analytical thinking; excellent time management and the aptitude to remain calm under pressure with fluency in the major MS Office programs are key qualities we are looking for. Experience of working in a local authority would be an advantage, however a good understanding of the key housing development issues faced at local and national level as well as the planning legislation within the UK is crucial to success in this role.
