Wellbeing & Activity Lead

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Wellbeing and Activity Lead for West Berkshire Council care homes. 

West Berkshire Council are looking to recruit an experienced Wellbeing and Activity Lead to manage and supervise the Wellbeing and Activity Team working across West Berkshire Council Care homes. 

With a significant amount of experience in planning and managing successful activity programmes within care homes and with formal qualifications in this field, the successful candidate will be a dynamic leader who can inspire the newly structured Wellbeing and Activity Team. 

West Berkshire Council run four care homes, two in Newbury, one in Thatcham and one in Kintbury. We are planning to increase the Activity Assistants working across the homes from four to six and a Wellbeing and Activity Lead is being recruited to lead this small, but vital team. 

The roles main responsibilities will be: 

  • To manage and lead the Wellbeing and Activity Team across the West Berkshire Council (WBC) owned Care Homes
  • To line manage six activity assistant staff members
  • To ensure planned activity and interventions are supported by an adequate evidence base
  • To undertake “activity assessments” and support the Wellbeing and Activity team to be able to access the resources to do so
  • To manage the care home wellbeing and activity expenditure 

The post will report into the Admission and Engagement Manager, Jenn Bunce.
