At Hillingdon we are passionate about delivering our vision of 'putting our residents first' and we do this through employing great people and building amazing teams. We provide competitive pay and excellent benefits and encourage our employees to make a real difference in Hillingdon. We have a resourceful, progressive and dynamic culture and you will really fit in if you want to challenge yourself, work collaboratively and gain a real sense of professional achievement. Ofsted have praised our 'outstanding leadership' and our SEND service has a new, vibrant management team so this really is a great opportunity to be part of something special at Hillingdon.
About the role
Following the successful implementation and launch of our new SEND Service in 2019, we are recruiting SEND Officers to join our existing team of officers.
We are committed to delivering the best service possible to children and young people with SEND and their families and want to work closely with our educational settings to ensure special educational needs and disabilities are well supported. As a SEND Officer, you will play an integral role in the SEND Team, holding a balanced caseload of children and young people with SEND and ensuring they receive efficient and timely assessments.
We are looking to expand our existing team and are therefore looking for candidates with a range of experience in SEND, whether this be in schools or other Local Authorities.
Previous experience of working with children and young people with special educational needs is essential, alongside knowledge of the relevant legislation and an understanding of child protection and safeguarding. You will also need to have experience of providing advice and guidance to educational settings in relation to statutory decision making.
