The AMHP mental health (MH) locality teams within the Adult Social Care (ASC) directorate at Surrey County Council (SCC), is seeking to appoint 10 approved mental health professionals; 7 full time posts (36 hours per week) and 3 part time posts (18 hours per week). The annual salary starts at £40,227, supplemented with an annual allowance of £1,500 (pro rata for part-time contracts).

About the role
Mental health (MH) locality teams receive referrals screened by centralised MH duty team. Successful candidates would be responsible for; undertaking statutory duties as laid out in the Mental Health Act, the Care Act, undertaking section 42 safeguarding enquires, making contact with service users and carers and establishing support needs and where appropriate signposting to appropriate services, completing adult social care assessments applying a strength based approach to support planning, completing reviews of existing packages of care, completing joint section 117 after care planning, working with partner agencies to include CMHRS', and supervision of staff. AMHPs will provide regular support to the frontline AMHP service and be part of the AMHP's service rota. We will offer clear professional leadership and great opportunities to develop your career.

- Willing to maintain personal Approved Mental Health Professional status (Warranted)
- Professional Qualification in Social Work
- Post qualifying experience that should include direct work with those who have mental health needs
- A current full driving licence and have use of a vehicle
- A working knowledge of legislation, assessments, preparation of care plans, monitoring and reviewing outcomes
- Commitment to your own professional development, including maintaining up-to-date knowledge of mental health issues
