More Information

Housing Advice and Preventions Officer

Folkestone & Hythe is a dynamic and innovative place to live, work and visit. Situated on Kent’s south east coast, the district is both rural and coastal in character. With an established arts and cultural hub and unrivalled regeneration, including the Garden Town Otterpool Park, the area is well connected, with London just under an hour away via the High Speed rail link and access to mainland Europe via the Channel Tunnel.

Based in our modern offices in the heart of Folkestone, with easy access to transport links, local shops, entertainment facilities and the seafront, we offer a flexible working environment, corporate membership and reward schemes, Employee Assistance Programme, and access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.

We’re currently seeking a dynamic and customer focused individual to deliver an efficient and effective Housing Advice, Homelessness Prevention and Statutory Homelessness Assessment service.
You’ll need previous experience within a Housing context or related field, a thorough knowledge of relevant legislation and its application, and the ability assess detailed information in order to make sound, evidence based decisions as a consequence.

But above all else if you’re a team player that can operate on their own initiative, have excellent interpersonal skills and the aptitude to deliver an outstanding service, then we want to hear from you.

For an informal discussion please contact: Housing And Inclusion Manager Mark Damiral on 07935 517982 or email

The closing date for receipt of all completed application forms is 9am Monday 18 January 2021.

The council may require you to work from home as we continue to deliver services during the Covid-19 pandemic period. Any remote or home working arrangement may be temporary only and will not constitute a permanent change to your designated place or work.
