Level 3 Lead Adult Care Worker Apprentice

Hours: 37 hours per week

Base Location: At one of our four care homes for older people, Abbotsbury in Biggleswade , Allison House in Sandy, Ferndale in Flitwick (North Bedfordshire) and Westlands in Leighton Buzzard. There are also opportunities at our residential home for individuals with learning disabilities at Linsell House in Dunstable (South Bedfordshire). The great news is that these five homes are rated as either Good or Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission.

Contract Type: 18 months - Fixed Term Contract

As a Lead Adult Care Apprentice, we will work with you on a daily basis to give you the opportunities to start to develop your skills and knowledge in relation to staff supervision, shift planning and key administration tasks such as care planning and medication administration. You will also be able to further develop in key areas such as assessment and support planning. Our aim is to support you so by the end of your apprenticeship you will have the confidence and the professional attributes to be ready for a move into a supervisory/ entry level management position.

 As part of the Lead Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship, you will: 

  • Undertake the Level 3 Diploma in Care.
  • The Care Certificate.
  • Achieve Level 2 English and maths prior to End Point Assessment. 
  • You will have access to a range of learning opportunities, including face to face learning, e-learning, tutorials and attend the corporate ‘My Apprenticeship’ days. 
  • You will be assigned a assessor who will support you throughout the apprenticeship, assess your work and practice. 

Due to the nature of the job role you must be 18 years and over.

Ideally, you will hold a Level 2 Diploma in Adult Care. Maths and English GCSEs at grades A* to C or 4 to 9 are desirable but not essential. 

Where these qualifications are not achieved our apprentices will undertake Functional Skills as part of the apprenticeship.  

You will be required to undertake an initial assessment as part of the interview if you do not already hold maths and English GCSE’s or equivalents.
