About the role

Brighton and Hove City Council (BHCC) Housing Department works in partnership with The Safer Communities Team and a range of partner agencies to reduce the harm caused by hate incidents & anti-social behaviour (ASB). The team uses a range of tools and powers available to support and protect both victims and witnesses, and to encourage and require perpetrators to address and change their behaviour.

In responding to ASB and hate incidents, BHCC requests information from Police systems in order to be able to quickly assess and reduce threat, risk, harm and vulnerability and take necessary action to address the behaviour. These requests for information are undertaken by the Information Disclosure Officer.

You will have knowledge of information governance and data handling legislation and experience of processing sensitive and/or confidential information. You will also have experience of extracting data from different information systems when requested to do so and of providing data in a format that meets the audience’s needs.

You will have the ability to prioritise and organise your own workload and will also have experience of working in a team.

The successful candidate will be asked to complete Sussex Police vetting prior to starting the role due to having access to policing systems.
