We are looking for a dynamic, organised and committed individual to undertake the role of DoLS Officer based in the Safeguarding and DoLS team for a period of 12 months. This is a fixed term post (Funding Limited Project) commencing 01/04/2021 until 31/03/2022.
This is a great opportunity for anyone who has an interest in Safeguarding Adults and DoLS within the wider social care remit and would value supporting a service that has a responsibility to scrutinise and authorise care arrangements ensuring relevant adults in West Berkshire can live their lives fully, and to minimise the potential impacts of abuse and harm.
This is a very busy role that demands excellent time management, organisational skills, ability to prioritise tasks, good excel skills, able to work effectively with data, competent in IT processes and ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with a wide range of people. Key to the success of this role is your capacity to work in partnership with both internal and external colleagues, ensuring the statutory duties of the Local Authority are fulfilled.
We are ideally looking to offer the successful candidate the full number of hours advertised above. We may however consider offering less hours than advertised providing they meet the requirements of the role and service which will be determined by the recruiting manager, but the minimum hours that would ensure this role is properly functional is 25 hours per week.
This role has been identified as public facing in accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2017; the requirement to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in English applies.
