Early Help Family Worker

Early Help Family Worker - Temporary, 37 hours per week

Our Locality Service are looking to recruit to their Team Around The Family.

We are looking for someone who is skilled and committed to working with families who have multiple and complex needs. You will need to be able to evidence previous experience of working with families of children aged 5-17 years who are dealing with issues such as poor adult and child mental health, substance misuse, domestic abuse, child exploitation, ASB, housing and financial difficulties.

The role includes that of Lead Professional for Multi Agency Assessment/Support Plans, coordinating services, implementing and reviewing the action plan. You will also complete direct work with young people and their carers in areas such as positive parenting, behaviour management and family relationships. In addition you will be working with other professionals to deliver group work and training to parents, carers and young people. We utilise a nurture based approach to our practice.

In keeping with Halton’s Levels of Need, the Locality service works with families as they step up and down the continuum of support. You will manage an individual caseload and as such be able to prioritise your own workload and meet challenging deadlines. Case recording must be clear, analytical and timely. In return, you will receive regular high quality supervision and support from your supervisor and benefit from the existing knowledge and professionalism of your peers.

Due to the COVID Pandemic an ability to work remotely is essential as the successful candidate will need to work from home for large periods of time whilst utilising PPE and social distancing to facilitate home visits and outreach visits in the community. The ability to work creatively to encourage engagement with young people and their families under COVID restrictions is required.

The role will involve regular travel across the borough and sometimes further afield. Therefore, the post holder must have a driving licence and access to a vehicle. The post holder must be able to transport children and young people to interventions as required. Where necessary, reasonable adjustments will be made in accordance with the Equality Act.
