An exciting opportunity has arisen to be the new General Parks Manager. The successful applicant will be part of the Wirral Parks and Countryside team.


As part of a restructure of Wirral Council's Parks and Countryside Service, there is a vacancy for the above post. Your will be part of a team of six General Parks Managers who cover Wirral.


Your will be responsible for the day to day management of parks and open spaces. In the North area this will include the management of extensive coastal and other natural areas of significant importance in managing biodiversity and nature conservation including SSSI.  Your remit will also include allotments, playgrounds, events, trees and cemeteries within the designated area; you will also be required to work in other areas as service needs dictate, through the management of team leaders, rangers and grounds maintenance operational staff, and work with Friends groups and other organisations.


You will need to have a HNC or HND in Parks Management Sector or equivalent qualifications or experience. Above all you will be looking to improve the way we engage with our employees/residents/customers to ensure they are at the heart of everything we do. We are looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated person, experienced in this type of work; skilled at communicating in an engaging manner, and capable of forming strong effective partnerships with a wide diversity of people.
