We are looking to recruit a Housing Options Assistant to work within the Council’s front-line Housing Solutions Team.
As a Housing Options Assistant you will work closely with a team of Housing Options Officers to help them to manage their caseload. You will be responsible for collecting documents to enable Homeless Applicants to apply for the Housing Register, as well as supporting the back office functions of the housing options team such as keeping client files in order, ensuring cases are progressed correctly on the IT database and acting as a point of liaison with other Housing Teams. The role will have some customer interaction. You can find your greatness by ensuring a person-centred approach to our residents, by meeting housing need and by contributing to the prevention of homelessness.
The successful candidate must be an organised, innovative and dedicated to improving service delivery with a customer focus by providing real solutions for people in housing need. Previous experience in an administration role is desirable, but not essential.
The role requires GCSE or equivalent qualification, or experience of the key job responsibilities. It is essential that the post holder has the ability to listen, have an understanding of the customer perspective and is able to work well under pressure, they will be required to operate a large caseload and must be able to manage competing deadlines and priorities.
