More about the role:

Help young people achieve their full potential by supporting them as they make the transition from being in care to independent living. Our work supports young people, who have experienced significant disruption and often trauma in their early lives and adolescence, to have the opportunity to prepare themselves for independence and their adult lives. This is the final part of the young person’s journey with social care and is significantly important in their transition into adult lives and adult services where appropriate.

Our Personal Advisors deliver a frontline service and safeguard some of the most vulnerable young adults in Central Bedfordshire while our Social Workers are responsible for providing great services to children and their families and contribute to improved wellbeing.

As a Personal Advisor you will be highly motivated to finding your own greatness through the extensive training and development offered in order to provide an outstanding service to young people who are Leaving Care. You will be working with young people aged between 16 and 25 undertaking needs assessments and creating Pathway Plans with them to support their needs so that objectives and aspirations are met.

You will be able to effectively manage a caseload to ensure that all departmental and statutory procedures and requirements are met. You will maintain accurate and appropriate records on all work undertaken in accordance with the departmental procedures. As part of the Leaving Care Team you will participate in the team duty rota so that enquiries can be dealt with promptly. The ideal candidate will hold an NVQ 3 in Child Care or sufficient knowledge to achieve this qualification within 6 months.

Join us, and take advantage of a generous rewards package, flexible working, and the chance to learn and progress. Find your greatness by helping us to deliver better services to the local community.
