Brighter Futures for Children is an independent, not-for-profit-company, wholly owned by Reading Borough Council. Our responsibility is to deliver quality children's services, early help, education and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) services to children and families in Reading.
Our Parent Champion Coordinator will solely be employed, to manage a cohort of volunteers from the Reading community and increase the uptake of the 2YO funding offer in Reading.
The role is busy and varied and includes:
- Arranging the recruitment and providing Co-ordination to a team of Parent Champion Volunteers from Reading’s community.
- Provide robust and regular supervision and monitoring, focus on maximising the impact of the Parent Champion Scheme with children eligible for their 2YO funding.
- To oversee the champions, to target local parent & toddler groups, Libraries, Health Clinics, New Directions/college and faith group settings, and other relevant organisations and groups
- Co-ordinate the training requirements for the volunteers and developing a training programme
The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience of managing volunteers in the local communities to identify and work to place the most vulnerable 2YO’s in Reading
