Brighter Futures for Children is an independent, not-for-profit-company, wholly owned by Reading Borough Council. Our responsibility is to deliver quality children's services, early help, education and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) services to children and families in Reading.
There has been much recent interest in several connected issues for children during lockdown and school holidays. These include, holiday hunger, food poverty, delayed learning and development, and social isolation.
We are looking for a scheme coordinator to plan, oversee and coordinate the Holiday Activity Programme in Reading.
This role will be responsible for the successful rollout and uptake to the scheme. This may be delivered virtually or face to face.
- Coordinating the local provision including out of school clubs, schools and voluntary organisations to ensure sufficient places for children(including SEND) to access the holiday activity scheme.
- Identify eligible children both at schools in Reading and out of borough and ensure they are aware of the scheme.
- Develop a robust and cohesive plan for the holiday activity scheme in Reading
The ideal candidate will have knowledge, experience and evidence of success in rolling out a new project to the community.
