The Post


In Day services, we support adults 18+ with a physical disability, learning disability, autism and challenging behaviour to access and participate in a wide range of day centre and community based activities whether it is educational, vocational or recreational.

 You will be accountable for leading a diverse client group, ensure the wellbeing of service users, giving adequate support to maximise their dignity, choice and independence. 

The role also includes working closely with customers’ families and carers to enable individuals to access meaningful activities, develop social and life skills that will enable them to make choices and take control of their lives.

The Person


You will need to demonstrate leadership, flexibility, enthusiasm, initiative and resilience, for what is often a very demanding but rewarding vocation. Demonstrate knowledge and experience of managing people with challenging behaviour and proven skills in evaluating and monitoring service user’s progress is essential for this role.

The post holder will be required to work as part of the management team within Direct Services and to work on expansion of accreditation across services with other team leaders.

The person

  • Ability to lead, manage and develop a large and diverse service
  • QCF Level 5 diploma in Leadership in Health and Social Care or Equivalent qualification
  • Management experience in social care/ Day services settings
