About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated scientist with experience in Light Microscopy and macrophotography to join the our Imaging and Analysis Centre!
Our Imaging and Analysis Centre incorporates extensive automated light microscopy facilities, Variable Pressure Scanning Electron Microscopy (VP-SEM); high-resolution Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FEG-SEM); analytical SEM (SEM-EDX) and confocal light microscopy (CLSM). In addition, there are 3D scanning, 3D visualisation and X-ray micro-CT laboratories as well as comprehensive chemical analytical facilities.
You will provide training and support for high quality light microscopy and macrophotography to users from a range of backgrounds, examining a wide variety of samples. You will also maintain the lab spaces to appropriate H&S standards, carry out risk and COSHH assessments.
You will have a Life or Earth Science degree, or equivalent relevant experience in the field, and must have proven experience of light microscopy and macro-photography. You will also have experience of Microsoft Office, Photoshop and other image processing packages.
Training may be provided across the full range of microscopy instrumentation, dependent on your level of pre-existing experience.
