We are looking for people to join the Culture and Heritage team with a range of skills and experience that add to and complement the existing team’s expertise.  Our focus is to ensure that Waltham Forest continues to grow as a borough of culture, supporting and empowering our local artists, creative sector and communities to deliver inclusive, relevant and high-quality cultural activities. We also work closely with our colleagues in economic growth to boost the reopening of our high streets, deliver longer term cultural infrastructure projects and connect people to jobs.  We need to ensure we achieve all of this in a sustainable way by maximising our commercial opportunities and responding effectively to the climate emergency.

Responsible for delivery of a high quality and inclusive arts and culture programme, including the award-winning William Morris Gallery and Vestry House Museum, this new strategic role will reshape our approach to fully engage with our diverse local communities, whilst also developing a regional and national profile. You will need to be prepared to challenge the status quo and decision-making to maximise participation and relevance as we develop the service to the next level, providing the necessary support to our local culture sector, and attracting visitors, creatives and investment to the borough. You will bring an innovative and radical approach, along with experience of developing highly engaged programmes in the arts, museum and culture sector.
