We are looking for a new business-facing Technical Advisor to carry out essential work to support the delivery of the West of England Low Carbon Challenge Fund. If you are qualified and experienced in providing energy/carbon surveys based on BS EN 16247 standards and have experience in delivering robust and practical decarbonisation advice to businesses, this role could be for you.
The Low Carbon Challenge Fund (LCCF) is a £12.1m value project, with £3.2m grant available, funded through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and West of England Recovery Fund. LCCF provides grants to small & medium enterprises for energy efficiency, and supports local renewable energy schemes and an innovative housing retrofit pilot project.
Our new Technical Advisor will support businesses who apply for Green Business Grant funding, primarily carrying out energy/carbon surveys. This means providing advice and guidance on the opportunities available to businesses to decarbonise and set them on the path to net-zero carbon. Our aim is for this work to lead to the implementation of projects, supported by Green Business Grants, that will be beneficial to businesses, in terms of cost savings as well as a reduced carbon footprint. The Technical Advisor will also support the grant application process.
This is a great opportunity to contribute to the implementation of the West of England Climate Emergency Action Plan, by increasing understanding of greenhouse gas emissions in the business sector and funding capital projects to reduce emissions. You will also support the aims of the West of England Recovery Plan by helping businesses become more productive through savings on energy bills and adding value for businesses in the low carbon economy.

Appointment to this role is on a fixed term basis until March 2023.
