Occuptional Therapist, 37 hours per week
This an rare opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to become part of our Initial Assessment Team, a multidisciplinary service providing occupational therapy and social work assessment to Halton residents. The team has responsibility for adapting homes and providing care management for vulnerable and disabled people in Halton. The occupational therapy part of the team has a range of responsibilities including:
- Assessment of the long-term needs of residents who have a permanent and substantial disability for equipment, minor and major adaptations to their home that will increase their level of independence
- Undertaking moving and handling assessments
- Carrying out blue badge assessments
We are seeking to recruit an Occupational Therapist who is interested in working specifically with clients and their families, providing a high quality service aimed at improving their independence at home. You will be visiting clients in their own homes, assessing their needs, providing information, advice, equipment and, where necessary, recommending adaptations – all with the aim of helping them to be independent at home and supporting their families.
It is a busy service with opportunities to gain a wide range of experience in all aspects of equipment and adaptation provision and moving and handling assessment. Previous experience, particularly in moving and handling assessment is preferred, but not essential, as training is available. The team has excellent working relationships with colleagues in the council, and in health and housing services.
You should possess BSc OT or an equivalent professional qualification and be registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).
