A number of exciting job opportunities have arisen within Knowsley Council’s Safer Communities Service.,

Knowsley Council has further invested in it’s Safer Communities service to ensure that ensures every victim of domestic abuse is offered support, regardless of their risk level. Knowsley also has a dedicated perpetrator/alleged perpetrator pathway targeting challenge and support to non-statutory offenders.

Knowsley Council’s Safer Communities service has lead responsibility in taking forward the priorities and strategic direction for domestic abuse and the operational delivery for the councils support services, for those aged 16 plus, impacted upon by Domestic Abuse. Along with strategic and direct operational practice the service is also responsible for several tactical, co-ordination and risk assessment processes across the borough.

The Safer Communities Service work in close partnership with agencies/services throughout the Borough and across Merseyside, and the successful candidates will be required to demonstrate appropriate knowledge, and experience, in respect of legislation, policy drivers and sector best practice relating to domestic abuse.

Domestic Abuse Perpetrator Case Managers (non-statutory) - (2 permanent full-time posts)

The successful Domestic Abuse Perpetrator Case Managers will work directly with those who cause harm. Utilising restorative practice and early interventions to ensure a coordinated response for perpetrators/offenders, encouraging behavioural change to preventing re-offending and re-victimisation. The post holder will be responsible for supporting the development of processes and policy to support earlier challenge and support of perpetrators of domestic abuse and identifying best practice, locally and nationally, as well as supporting the implementation and delivery of the MATAC (multi-agency task and coordination group for domestic abuse perpetrators).

We are looking for diligent, committed, and motivated individuals to work as a member of the Safer Communities Service delivering a victim focussed response to reported issues of domestic abuse. The successful candidates will have relevant experience of working with those impacted upon, or those who have perpetrated, domestic abuse.

We are looking to add to  our existing expertise and response across the service and would be particularly interested in applicants with experience of working with clients with multiple and complex needs, those with adult and social care needs,, clients requiring support in accessing safe accommodation or applicants  who have experience working with younger victims of domestic  abuse aged 16+ .
