Out of School Club Playworker

Salary: Grade 2 – Hourly: £9.25. 6 month initial contract with the potential for permanency

Hours of Work: 10.5 hours per week covering 3.00pm-6.00pm – working days and times to be agreed (Subject to demand this may include mornings 7:30-9:00)

Working Pattern: Term time contract (38 weeks – subject to increase to include holiday club)

Werbies Out of School and Holiday Club provides an inclusive and caring environment for children aged 4 - 11. Werbies is an integral and vibrant part of our school providing wrap around care for children attending St Werburghs and St Columbas Catholic Primary School.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Playworker who will provide a secure, engaging and fun environment, with a range of activities for children aged 4 – 11.

The Playworker will assist to provide a secure environment for all children attending Werbies through individual attention and group activities; and to organise an appropriate range of creative and stimulating leisure activities for children. There is an expectation that additional hours will be undertaken during the Holiday Club if required.

The successful candidate must have experience of structured play and activities with children aged between 4 and 11 years old, which may include working with, or volunteering to work with them. Candidates must also have effective team working skills, interpersonal skills to communicate well with children and adults and an understanding of diversity and how to support children having equal opportunities to access activities in the Club.
