Are you experienced in large scale physical and/or complex projects?

Are you a Project Officer seeking the opportunity to contribute to a prestigious regeneration project?

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced Project Officer to join Halton’s multi-disciplinary team in embarking on the Mersey Gateway Regeneration Plus project. Working with colleagues and stakeholders from a range of disciplines, you will play a key role in driving project plans to meet key milestones.

You will have a key role in shaping Halton’s alignment with national strategy, in particular, the  Government’s Ten Point Plan for a Green Industrial Revolution, published in November 2020, that considers energy, transport and environment. The Council has a vital leadership role to play in the local and regional green agenda, by building public confidence that will accelerate the necessary changes that will bring benefits to our environment and economy. If you are committed to the Green Agenda, and have previous experience in this area, this could be the perfect role for you.

With past experience of working on large scale or complex physical projects as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will be key in shaping effective and inclusive partnerships with a range of stakeholders. Your excellent communication skills will enable you to engage, negotiate with and influence.

You will have demonstrable experience of applying project management principles within a complex environment to successfully deliver projects on time and in budget. In doing so, you will have effectively identified and managed risks; using your analytical and problem solving skills to seek and creatively apply solutions where necessary. Able to prioritise and organise a busy workload within a complex programme of projects, you will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.

This is a key post within a significant regeneration programme where you will play an instrumental role in helping to shape outcomes for the local area of Halton and its residents. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.

This is a fixed term position for 2 years based on project funding.

The role will involve regular travel across the borough and sometimes further afield. Therefore, the post holder must have a driving licence and access to a vehicle. Where necessary, reasonable adjustments will be made in accordance with the Equality Act.
