We are looking for a highly motivated, efficient and customer focused individual to join the Council’s Economic Development team for 12 months to support our work with providing financial assistance to support local businesses recovering from the Covid-19 pandemic.
As the Grants & Funding Officer, you will act as the main point of contact for all aspects of the Council’s funding support for businesses affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, including advising businesses about how to apply and assessing applications. You will also identify and help to secure relevant funding streams to aid the recovery for local businesses and support the delivery of the Council’s Economic Development Strategy.
The successful candidate will have strong organisational skills and the ability to work under their own initiative and meet deadlines, experience of communicating with businesses and the public with confidence, tact and diplomacy, and have some experience of applying for, processing or advising on business grants or be able to demonstrate a basic knowledge of business grants. You would be joining our enthusiastic and high performing team, so an ability to work as part of the team will be essential.
Whilst not a regular requirement, you should be prepared to attend occasional evening meetings and work flexible hours to meet the needs of the role.
