More Information

COVID Community Engagement Officer

This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of the community within the Royal Borough people and the wider community. Working across both the Local Authority and Primary Care Networks, you will support the community to determine the measures and services that would make a difference to their lives. Using this knowledge to provide reports to senior leaders of the council, you will influence the development of plans, networks and programmes of work that range from enhancing the knowledge of communities, through to understanding the measures that need to be put in place. You will work closely with key external organisations such as GP’s, the voluntary sector, faith leaders to build a truly integrated approach.

Advising on highly complex matters, you will ensure the community’s collective voice is being heard during the development of every new service and measure, ultimately improving how services are being provided. Crucially, you will identify and establish outreach opportunities, raising awareness within the community on topics such as vaccinations, COVID 19 myth busting sessions. General health and wellbeing. Across all that you do, you will help us build and improve knowledge of the local community, shaping a clearer picture of their concerns and opinions.

This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with partners including Public Health, CCG and the NHS. We are excited about the impact that this role will have on some of our most vulnerable residents. To rise to this vital challenge, you will therefore have substantial experience of working with seldom-heard sectors of the community and voluntary organisations, with a good knowledge of engagement strategies and practices of engagement with vulnerable groups. With a great work ethic, you will be a team-player who is also capable of working alone, so you will be highly organised, and you will bring plenty of initiative and energy to the role. Crucially, you will be a highly influential individual, with exceptional negotiating, communication and influencing skills.
