Hours of Work: 26.25 hours a week – Term Time Only + 3 Days

                              Monday – Friday: 9.15am – 3.00pm

Salary:  NJC Point 6 £19,698 (Pro Rata)

The governors, staff and pupils wish to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic Learning Mentor to engage and support children who are experiencing difficulties in learning due to a range of issues. 


We are looking for a positive, enthusiastic and approachable professional to join our team; someone who is passionate about helping children reach their full potential and has the ability to form excellent relationships and rapport with pupils. You will be expected to think on your feet, offer flexibility and be proactive.

You will be able to work creatively in a variety of ways to help children overcome their barriers to learning. Candidates must have good literacy and numeracy skills to at least GCSE or equivalent level, excellent organisational skills and effective behavioural management skills. Previous experience of the knowledge and skills for the role is desirable.


The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of activities including:

  • Developing 1:1 and small group mentoring programmes
  • Peer mediation and buddy training
  • School Council – pupil voice
  • Break and lunch time clubs
  • Bereavement support
  • Self-esteem building
  • Working collaboratively with external agencies
  • Individual learning support within and/or beyond the classroom
