More Information

Required from September 2021

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Gallions Primary school, part of New Vision Trust. Our current Headteacher will be leaving to take up further study. We are seeking to appoint a caring, dedicated and inspirational new leader for our wonderful school.

Gallions Primary School has approximately 500 pupils on roll and proudly serves a diverse community within Newham. The school has extensive outdoor space and purpose built areas to support learning across the curriculum. These include an extensive Music Centre, Art Studio, Library and two DT kitchens. The school has a highly successful Resource Provision for Autism.

Gallions has an exciting curriculum, combining subject-based and cross-curricular learning and building on knowledge and understanding as pupils move through the school. Leaders and staff are ambitious and aim high, borne out in the year on year improvement in pupil attainment and progress. Alongside this, there is a strong emphasis on supporting children to find their talents and ensuring all subjects, including music (see link below to Gallions Music Trust) and the creative arts, are taught to the highest standards.

Gallions is a happy school, with dedicated staff who understand that children’s success relies on adults leading the way and believing in what can be achieved. The school was a founding member of New Vision Trust in April 2018 and continues to be strengthened through working within a collaborative, collegiate partnership of excellence. The new Headteacher will benefit from mutual support whilst working with the Trust Headteachers and CEO. Within the Trust there is a highly successful and nationally recognised Maths and English Hub, based on research and best practice, which provide further high quality CPD for Gallion’s staff and rich opportunities for children.

New Vision Trust recognises the positive value of diversity, promotes equality and challenges discrimination. We welcome and encourage job applications from people of all backgrounds.

Please see the accompanying information and apply online with a supporting statement (maximum two sides of A4) outlining your skills and experience and how you would build on the success of the school.

For further information or a discussion, please contact the Trust CEO Shahed Ahmed: We actively encourage visits to the school. Please contact the current Headteacher Shazia Hussain:
