As a small district council with a large land footprint we are responsible for over 5,500 council houses and associated community venues.

Newark and Sherwood District Council is passionate about providing high quality, customer focused housing services to local people, putting tenants’ needs at the heart of everything, enabling local tenants, leaseholders and residents to live in a Cleaner, Safer, Greener environment.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Housing Maintenance Team for a Works Planner.

As a Works Planner your key responsibilities will be to ensure the smooth running of our operatives diaries and dealing with urgent works as they arise.  You will need the ability to prioritise, be self-motivated and able to work accurately in a fast paced environment.

You will be planning repairs using our dynamic scheduling system and selecting the relevant trades with the right skill set. You will be organising complex repairs, tracking and monitoring all jobs to completion.

You will be required to use our Housing and Scheduling system ensuring all relevant records and data are up to date.

You will communicate directly with tenants, operatives and contractors and work with the Works Planning Supervisor and Responsive Repairs Supervisor to achieve the service areas key performance indicators and customer satisfaction.

There will be occasions where you will have to manage customer service complaints from tenant dissatisfaction and you will be required to resolve these complaints to a satisfactory resolution.
