Neglect Lead Manager - 12 month opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to be actively involved in tackling Childhood Neglect in Birmingham. The successful applicant will work with a Multi-Agency Operational Group implementation the Neglect Strategy. Your work will focus on developing a new approach to dealing with neglect in two pilot localities, Northfield and Hodge Hill areas of the city. Working closely with partners in early help that will incorporate existing good practice and embed the proven assessment tool Graded Care Profile 2.  Your role will embed workforce development, targeting the right training for frontline and specialist practitioners working with vulnerable children and families.  We intend to develop a network of Neglect Champions to raise awareness of neglect and help to signpost communities on where they can access support and services locally.

We are looking for a dynamic individual who wants to make a difference to Childhood Neglect. With the ability to communicate and engage effectively at all levels and be confident in building and maintaining positive working relationships, you will need to have extensive frontline experience of working with families and a range of practitioners. You will have a demonstrable ability to organise and deliver project-based work in relation to managing change.

Initially this is a one-year secondment or fixed term contract, which will be subject to review after the first year.

If this sounds like you, and you’re committed to improving the lives of Birmingham’s children, we’d love to hear from you.

Interviews will be held remotely on 4th May 2021
