Community Safety Officer

The Wokingham Community Safety Team is part of an expanding and developing Communities and Neighborhoods Service that is at the heart of delivering services to the residents of the borough. The Community Safety Team is an integral part of ensuring that the borough remains a safe place to live work and visit by delivering positive outcomes to residents, communities and businesses.

As a Community Safety Officer you will be part of a Community Safety Team helping to deliver across the range of strategic and operational Community Safety areas of responsibility including; Prevent, Hate Crime, Anti-Social Behaviour, Substance Misuse and Domestic Abuse.  

We are looking for a candidate that has the key understanding of how each of these areas translate into operational response as well as the strategic understanding of how the they knit together in a complex framework of partnership delivery. You will have well established knowledge and experience of working with the range of responsible authorities and partners including Thames Valley Police, Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service, Health and Probation as well as Social Landlords to deliver initiatives to reduce and prevent Crime and Disorder. 

We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with experience of Community Safety. Someone who thrives for best practice and has a strong work ethic is essential as is the commitment and experience of partnership and multi-agency working.
