About Connecting Hastings and Rother Together (CHART)
CHART is a Community-led Local Development Programme with access to European Structural Investment Funds (ESIF) to support projects that bring a fresh approach to tackling deep-rooted problems which conventional working has not managed to solve. It is particularly focused on:
- helping disadvantaged people to find and keep work locally
- helping disadvantaged people to start a business or set up as self-employed
- stimulating the local economy to create jobs suitable for local people
About the Syrian Resettlement Employability Program
Since 2015, the council has been working as part of the national Syrian Resettlement Programme to resettle vulnerable people displaced by the conflict in Syria.
100 refugees have been resettled in Hastings and the project is continuing to support them to integrate within the local community and become fully self-sufficient.
About the role
Project Manager
We’re looking for a motivated project manager to develop and oversee the delivery of the employability support programme within the Syrian Resettlement Programme.
You’ll have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and will use these to work closely with partners from across the statutory and community sector, to identify and address operational issues which prevent vulnerable people from accessing employment and training. You will be responsible for ensuring the project is delivered to specification and budget, including meeting the CHART Programme objectives.
Employability Coach
You’ll deliver holistic support for refugees who need support to access the employment and financial stability. This will ensure that clients feel confident, empowered and able to integrate into the wider community and contribute towards the local economy.
