Assistant Housing Options Officer

Arun Housing Options Team is an extremely busy front-line service working to prevent homelessness, to sustain tenancies and to identify sources of accommodation across all tenures.

We need highly driven, positive, resilient people to form part of our team to deliver services for people who are homeless and who often present with complex and challenging circumstances. You will need to demonstrate a passion for what you do and for the people who need your help.  You will need to have a track record of delivering excellent quality services with a strong focus on performance and customer satisfaction.

Working for us will bring fresh challenges with the opportunity to grow and develop. One thing we can guarantee is that you will gain job satisfaction from being part of our team and working within the Arun Cares competency framework.

It is important to us that you can manage multiple demands and able to self-motivate, retaining a resilient and flexible approach to your work and have a willingness to contribute positively to team-working. The work tasks will require persistence whilst building good rapport with our clients and negotiating successful outcomes.

It is not essential that you have previous experience of working in housing, although it would be an advantage.  You should be able to remain calm under pressure and demonstrate that you can adapt your communication style to the situation you are dealing with.

So, if you enjoy working in an environment where no two days are the same and you thrive working in a team that’s constantly striving to improve and make a difference to people’s lives, then we would love to hear from you.

In return we offer:

  • Up to 28 days paid annual leave plus paid Bank Holidays (subject to continuous service) - PLUS Flexi-Time
  • Free membership at local leisure centres
  • Excellent Contributory Pension Scheme
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Cycle to Work discount/Christmas Savings/Save As You Earn Schemes
  • Health and Wellbeing initiatives including free health checks, free eye tests and an option to pay into a Simply Health Care plan
  • Training and Development Opportunities
