Contract:                               Permanent

We are looking for an enthusiastic and versatile planner who can help us handle a range of planning applications, appeals and other case work across North Somerset.  Based in modern offices close to the seafront in one of the most attractive parts of the country, you would be part of a busy team working on a variety of cases and may be required help with the management of that team.  The role involves balancing significant development pressures in a constrained area which includes Green Belt, AONB, extensive areas vulnerable to flooding and other sensitive environments.  Our challenges are wide ranging and as a result there will be plenty of opportunity to develop your experience and skills.  You should hold a degree in Town and Country Planning or equivalent and be eligible for membership of the RTPI with a good understanding of the planning application and appeal process.   Management knowledge and/or experience  would be a benefit. This is a career graded post and we can offer a range of benefits including flexible working hours and a friendly and supportive team.  Starting salary will depend on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.
