This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves to be out in the countryside, helping to resolve and improve community access issues, as part of our Public Rights of Way Team. You will be implementing a program of agreed projects that will improve our network across our public rights of way.
We are currently rewriting our Rights of Way Improvement Plan which addresses how we plan for adding, changing and improving local rights of way in our area. This plan forms the basis for the projects you will deliver.
You will be required to prepare works programmes to replace furniture such as signs and stiles as well as path surface improvements, liaise with landowners about proposals, arrange purchase of materials, deal with contractors and inspect upon competition. All of which will need to be recorded onto our Computer Management System.
You will be part of an experienced team that manages 860 km of Public Rights of Way. The successful candidate will also need to be motivated, social, and be able to deliver deadlines and carry out site visits whatever the weather.
The successful candidate will need to have a driving license and to be able to travel throughout the district.
For an informal discussion, please contact Elaine Bowman, Principal Access Officer on 01934 427406.
Anticipated interview date: Friday 28 May 2021
